Fixed Wings
So a few months ago I came home all excited with my purchases after attending a craft show....oh how I love attending them....
Watching the artists demonstrate various techniques, I came away inspired and had such wonderful plans for these treasured items....the possibilities were endless!
Among the many purchases that I made....I had bought some wooden objects which included boxes, hearts, gears, key holders, clocks and butterflies......
And here we are....some months later and some items are still in their packages....
What happened to all the inspiration and plans that I was to eager about? Am I addicted to buying all the products for the latest craze? What is it about crafting that makes us go nuts and urges us to spend more money on the things we end up stashing away? I know there are many crafters out there that can identify with what I'm saying.....
I guess everyone has something that makes them happy....so why not I say....
To be fair, I did make a few of the bigger items....so I didn't do too badly....it's just these smaller pieces that are working on my nerves....
The butterflies especially....I have been so undecided about what I wanted to do that I kept changing my mind....it was starting to annoy me....
I finally decided that I was going to paint it with black gesso and then cover it with different coloured paper.....but then I had this flower that I made which I really liked it and I wanted to use that on the butterfly.....but I still wasn't sure....
So last night when I got home from work I decided that I'm going to do something with this piece...do or die! And it was going to use my flower that I made and I was going to use items that I had not used yet.....
In the end, I left it plain black....
I used an unopened stamp with a Versamark inkpad and embossing powder...
I also used an unused stencil with an unopened tub of sparkle medium for the tiny butterflies on the wings
So all in all, I did good to make a dent in my unused stuff....
Moral of the story....
Let's use our stash!
